Network Development Manager

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic development manager, with a working knowledge of the UK legal sector, to lead on the next stage of the LiP Network.
About us:
The Litigant in Person Network connects a wide range of people with a common goal of improving access to justice. It is a place for people working in this area to share, discuss and collaborate across sectors on issues relating to Litigants in Person. Members include the advice sector, legal professionals, academics, the judiciary, court and tribunal staff.
About the role:
The Network currently has 270 members but with new funding received for a second year of development we are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Network Development Manager who can take the Network to the next level. The Network has reached an exciting stage where we are looking for a senior and experienced person to develop a more strategic approach for the Network, to build the membership and connect the Network to share ideas and drive solutions to improve access to justice.
Reporting to the Programme Director, the Network Development Manager will work to develop the role of the Network as a vehicle to:
- Develop a better understanding of the barriers and challenges facing Litigants in Person and the scale of the problems
- Identify where efforts by different Network members could be centralised or made more efficient
- Identify and capture in a systematic way the policy and practice issues that the members of the Network are facing
- Help to raise these issues with policy makers and key stakeholders such as the judiciary, courts staff, relevant government departments
- Drive the Network to engage and collaborate with a wider range of organisations (legal and non-legal) where Litigants in Person may be
- Build a global partnership with similar networks in the United States and Canada to help share learning and develop solutions
You will be expected to:
- Establish systems and processes for recruiting and retaining member organisations and individuals, as well as providing feedback from the LiP Network to the Programme Directors and CEO Committee.
- Develop an annual Network Development Strategy and an associated Member Recruitment Plan
- Be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Network Database.
- Work with the Programme Director and CEO Committee to establish and run working groups for the Network.
- Ensure appropriate systems are in place to monitor and evaluate the Network
