Getting ready for Volunteer week: 1 - 7 June

Published 03/05/2019 by Martha de la Roche

Many of our organisations rely on volunteers to support the services they deliver to those in need in our communities; from student advisers in a clinic to pro bono lawyers and chats over tea with PSU volunteers. Volunteer week provides an opportunity to celebrate the work they do while also highlighting the impacts of the organisations that support them.

What do volunteers do for your organisation?

Volunteers’ Week (this year from 1-7 June) is an annual campaign which provides an opportunity not only for us to thank the volunteers which support our services but to talk more about volunteering for our organisations can change the lives of the people we support.

The Volunteers’ Week website has a huge range of template resources which you can use and adapt, including social media content and thank you cards, and guidance and information for organisations on a variety of topics including recruitment and management of volunteers.

For this year’s event the pro bono community will be using the hashtag #IDoProBono to highlight the work they do and why they do it.

The LIP Network will be sharing stories of volunteers from within the membership during the week so, if you’re interested in taking part, let us know and we can help support your campaign online.
