The Legal Services Board will be talking about its initial high level findings from the largest ever legal needs survey in England & Wales on 29th October.
On 29th October 2019 the Legal Services Board will be talking about initial high level findings from the largest legal needs survey ever run in England and Wales. The survey includes a national representative sample of 28,000 adults based in England and Wales.
The joint Legal Services Board (LSB) and the Law Society (LS) project is the first survey drawing on OECD guidance on legal needs surveys. It includes measures of legal capability and the extent of unmet legal needs. YouGov carried the fieldwork, analysis and reporting on behalf of the LSB and TLS. The survey covers how individuals deal with different legal problems, access to justice, experience of choosing and using advice services, public legal education and awareness and access to legal aid. We believe that there are concrete steps that PLE providers can implement that will improve the experience of users.
- Chair: Alex Chalk MP
- Matthew Hill CEO of the Legal Services Board, Tom May, LSB research manager, who will outline the survey’s initial findings.
- Sarah Chambers, Chair Legal Services Consumer Panel, and Jane Malcolm, SRA will also be speaking
