Four new Litigant in Person Engagement Group Easy Read guides published

Published 08/10/2019

Easy Read makes complicated government information more accessible to disabled people living with learning barriers. The format of the guides is easy to understand because it uses simple, jargon free language, shorter sentences and supporting images, concentrating on the main points of a document so people can understand the key issues and make decisions if necessary.

The four new EasyRead guides can be found on GOV.UK and include:·

  • SSCS1A - How to appeal a decision by DWP: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/how-to-appeal-a-decision-by-dwp-sscs1a
  • SEND37 - How to appeal a special educational needs decision: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/how-to-appeal-a-special-educational-needs-sen-decision-send37
  • N1A - Notes for claimants completing a claim form: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/form-n1-claim-form-cpr-part-7
  • EX160A - Apply for help with court and tribunal fees: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/apply-for-help-with-court-and-tribunal-fees
